I wish to participate in the 2023 City of Sacramento Bicycle/Scooter Ride May 10, 2023.
In signing this release and waiver of liability, I acknowledge that I understand its intent, and I for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators and representatives, agree to absolve and hold harmless the City of Sacramento, its officers, agents, representatives, employees, event sponsors, cooperating organizations, and any other parties connected with this event in any way together with their respective successors and assigns (the “Sponsors”) singularly and collectively, from and against any blame and liability for injury, harm, loss, inconvenience or damage of any kind whatsoever, which may result from or be connected to my participation in the Bicycle/Scooter Ride.
I understand there are risks inherent with bike riding on public streets and highways where many hazards may exist. I also understand that there will be a large number of people biking and scooting, some of whom are inexperienced, potentially creating further hazards. I am voluntarily participating in this event with knowledge of the hazards involved and accept all related risks.
I am physically capable of participating in the event and the equipment I will use will be in proper working condition. I acknowledge that I, and I alone, am solely responsible for my personal health and safety, and the personal property I bring with me.
I have read the event description and the rules of participation in the event and I will abide by all rules and regulations established by the Sponsors. I agree to adhere to all other event rules, and conduct myself in a safe and prudent manner while participating in the event.
Failure to abide by event rules or listen to event leaders could lead to my being asked to leave the event. I give the City of Sacramento permission to use my (and any minor accompanying me) name and any photograph, voice or likeness during the event in any promotional materials or publications. I consent to and authorize in advance such use and waive my rights of privacy I have in connection therewith.
Please read each statement:
- I have reviewed the event safety information and will follow the rules of the event.
- I understand that it is highly recommended that I wear a helmet, and that the leaders of the bicycling event will request that I wear a helmet.
- If I leave the route, I am off the ride and on my own in regard to support and safety.
- I will not drink alcohol or take drugs that could impair my ability to ride safely.
- I am physically able to safely participate in this activity.
- I have checked my equipment and find it to be in safe working order for this event.
As a parent/guardian, I have read the foregoing Release and Liability Waiver and I understand and agree to its provisions. I have discussed with the minor rider the requirements to observe all traffic laws, to wear a helmet, and adhere to all other event rules and to act in a safe and prudent manner. I concur with representations made by the minor rider about minor rider’s physical capabilities, and about the working order of their equipment. I agree that the City of Brighton may use minor rider’s name and photograph in any promotional materials or publications. I understand that an adult must accompany all participants under the age of 18 at all times.
